lack of clarity

It's funny how you find strength you didn't know you possessed at the most critical time in your life.

We were all immensely relieved when back-up arrived. Honestly, I don't think we could have held on much longer.
The urchin's leader, Aldaron, had fled, and I was forced to track him down at the Sunsail Anchorage, not too far from Fairbreeze village. I was surprised at his lack of strength, having braced myself for the hardest fight of my life. The most difficult task was reaching his tower without alerting him of my presence.

I made my way to Fairbreeze village, a very long walk I might add, and Mayor Landra Dawnstrider sent me to speak with Ranger Sareyn in the East Sanctum. I also heard hushed whispers about something called The Dead Scar, but everyone seemed afraid to talk about it, so I reluctantly headed on my way.

My trek to East Sanctum was cut short as I ran into a camp of rangers, several miles out of Fairbreeze. They had set up a crude fence in hopes of keeping something or someone from reaching town.
Luckily, I found Ranger Sareyn in camp, and the stories she shared about creatures lurking nearby made my skin crawl.
According to her, there were large undead-like creatures called Dark Wraiths and Maraudons. She couldn't give me an estimate of how many or even how close they were. The camp had been trying to do their best by securing roads leading to Fairbreeze or Silvermoon City, but their help was slowly dwindling. Guards had been sent from all nearby towns, but the strikes had been swift and painful, sending many to infirmaries and killing others.
Most of the Rangers were young recruits who had never had any real experience with something remotely close to this, such as myself, and their eyes spoke in volumes about their fear, except for Sareyn. I must admit, shamefully, I was a bit envious of her, but I was also grateful, and I imagine I wasn't the only one. The camp would of fallen long ago without her, and everyone knew it!

The Dead scar had been nothing like I imagined, and I couldn't help as fear coiled in the pit of my stomach. It was a revolting sight.
Where grass and beautiful trees had once grown now had nothing but bare soil, and the stench of rotting flesh hung like heavy blanket around the area. The Dark Wraiths were like nothing I had ever seen before, and I wondered briefly if they were solid or just a black essence.
The Maraudons were another sight entirely. They resembled corpses, but it was impossible to tell if they had once been, human, animal or even a mixture of both.

I made my way to East Sanctum, alone unfortunately, since Ranger Sareyn had informed me that there was someone there who could possibly help us. I had to cross the Dead Scar, not something I was looking forward to, and I got my chance to fight these grotesque abominations. They were strong, but luckily, I was stronger.
The someone turned out to be Apprentice Mirveda who was well known for her healing spells to the land. She had been studying samples of the soil, and asked me to gather a few more for her while she gathered the ingredients necessary for the spell.
It took her only minutes to begin with her spell, but unfortunately it was too late. She told me that the corruption was spreading at a rapid rate which alarming, and I had to warn those around. ( I was told later that she was killed when she was discovered, something I was very upset to hear. )

I have also still been working with Noellene, and I'm happy to report that I have reached my 10th mark in training. I've been told there are 70 marks to receive, something that seems impossible to reach. I've also received news from my mom, the attackers have grown more violent, and the attacks are more frequent so it could be a long time before I see her again.
She is worried about the events taking place here in Eversong Woods, but she can't leave her post without putting those around her in danger, something I'm beginning to understand. ( She also promised to send me a picture of the area soon so I will be sure to share. )

This is what the Dead Scar looks like.
The most horrible sight I've seen ever!

This is what the disgusting Maraudon look like.
I was very surprised at how fast they were able to
move.

I am truly sorry to hear about what happened to her!

Starting out

A darkness has fallen over the area, and I'm not sure why I never noticed it before. The usually well natured Mana Worms, Tigers and Ferals were hostile, and unfortunately I was sent to take care of them today.

I also received the news that my mother, Alexendra, was dispatched to the Outlands to help control the growing number of attacks on the portal. I was uneasy not having her around to help me with my training, but she did send me to a long friend of hers, Noellene, to help me.
I spent a small amount of time doing some errants for a few people on Sunstride Isle before I stumbled across a young boy who was upset about something that was happening in the Ruins of Silvermoon. I went to investigate, of course, and I was very disturbed by what I found. There was a group of urchins who were hiding among the ruins, attacking those who wondered by unaware.

Noellene sent me to help out a small group of guards that had been sent from Fairbreeze Village, the closest town. I was able to get close to several of the urchins to overhear them speaking about their leader. I quickly relayed the information to Aeldon Sunbrand who sent a runner to Silvermoon city to get some help. We are just trying to hold down the fort while we get back up, and I just hope we receive it. Soon

I'm not entirely sure how or why my world suddenly changed. My life use to consist of doing some light training, never against anything living, and then I would just spend sometime with mom or her friends who also live on the Isle. I also spent time down at the beach behind the compound, but I was apparently so unaware of the world around me, and its very difficult to suddently have it all change. I can only hope I'm up for it.
OH and I got a few pictures to share! :) Enjoy

This is a picture of me and Noellene!

See!
The once sweet cats are now really
aggressive and...mean!

I couldn't help it.
I had to pose for one of my pictures! :)
